Abstract
Prof. Jürgen Schmidhuber will be giving a talk about his “thoughts on artificial intelligence” as part of the Munich AI Lecture Seris. The New York Times once referred to Jürgen Schmidhuber in a headline: “When A.I. Matures, It May Call Jürgen Schmidhuber ‘Dad’.” He is one of the best-known researchers in the field of artificial intelligence and advises various governments on the subject. His artificial neural networks revolutionized machine learning and have been used billions of times in applications such as automatic translation, speech recognition, learning robots, image description, AI assistants, financial prediction, and healthcare. His team developed the principle of generative adversarial networks, artificial curiosity, Transformers with linearized self-attention, and meta-learning machines that learn to learn.
